Performance

If you’ve selected a lot of data to backup, it will take a good chunk of time the first time you do a backup. Once the initial backup is complete, PutPlace only uploads new or revised files, so it’s fast and virtually unnoticeable.

Check the status of your upload by opening the client window (double click on the PutPlace icon in the bottom right side of your screen). You’ll see the green status bar moving along, indicating that data is being uploaded.

If you think PutPlace is slowing you down, exit PutPlace to make sure it’s not another issue. To disable PutPlace, right-click the PutPlace icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Exit. Remember: this will stop all automated backup so don't forget to turn PutPlace back on again!

PutPlace should have no negative affect on your computer’s performance because it runs in the background and only uploads new or revised files.

The only time you may see performance lag is during PutPlace set-up, when you’re uploading complete copies of ALL the data you want secured.
