What happens to old PutPlace accounts? Do you delete stuff?

PutPlace won’t keep abandoned data indefinitely. When an account expires, we’ll notify the account holder that their data may be deleted, so they have a chance to download it and store it somewhere else.

We’ll remind you to pay your subscription and will warn you in advance before deleting your abandoned data. But, if your contact details are incorrect or out of date, our attempts to contact you may be unsuccessful.  That's why its crucial that we be able to contact you.

You hold the account, not your computer. Because PutPlace can be set up on all of your devices (desktops and laptops etc.) at any one time-or over time, you want to be able to see and manage all of the data in your life, not just on one machine!

Can I share an account?

The only way to can share a PutPlace account is to share your log in details. This often works for families backing up from a number of devices and machines (laptop, desktop, gaming machine, etc.) in your house. Having family-wide log in means that everyone in the family has access to all of your data.

Currently, PutPlace does not offer granular access control. For example, Mom and Dad can see everything, but children can only see certain content.

If you choose to cancel your PutPlace account and have paid in advance, we will refund you for any full unused months.

What happens when my paid subscription expires?

We will notify you when your subscription is coming up for renewal. If you choose not to renew, we will store your content for one month after your subscription expires. We will also contact you before we finally delete your content from our system.

When I upgrade my account, how soon will it reflect the change?

Your account will upgrade immediately when you register for a new subscription level.  If your upgrade does not immediately appear, email support@putplace.com.

To upgrade your subscription, click here and select a different subscription level.

If you’re storing less data than you anticipated, its easy to downgrade your subscription.  We will refund you with the difference between your old and new subscriptions for the unused part of your subscription term.

What happens when my trial subscription expires?

When your trial subscription is close to expiry, we will email you to let you know the date it will expire on. Once your trial subscription expires, we will hold your content for one month and will notify you before we delete your content from our system.
