Can anyone other than me access my content?

Never! Your data is protected by your password and username. Unless someone gets access to your personal login details, your data remains complete private.

How do I access my content remotely on-line? Is there a web-version of PutPlace?

When PutPlace manages and organises your data, it is backed up to an online repository. You can access this repository from any computer that is connected to the Internet.

Go to http://putplace.com/signin. Log in to your account and access your data.

You can also access your online repository through the PutPlace client window by clicking on the Web icon.

How many versions of the same file does PutPlace keep?

PutPlace keeps track of changes you make to a file over time. If you modify a file, PutPlace will store the previous version, as well as the new versions. This feature makes it easy to go back to an earlier version if you’re not happy with the changes you’ve made.

If you do not want to store multiple versions, log in to your repository and delete older versions.

You can also access your online repository through the PutPlace client window by clicking the Web icon.

Does PutPlace tag content for me?

We don’t currently offer tagging, but it will be coming down the line in the next few months.

What if I access my content remotely and then change it–will that be reflected on my home machine?

PutPlace only recognises changes that take place on your PC. Any additions or modifications are reflected by PutPlace in your stored online content. It doesn't work the other way around.

However, it’s still easy to access and use your online content. Just make sure to download what you have changed to your home computer and PutPlace will keep a current version of everything for you.

PutPlace can also keep copies of earlier versions of your data, so that you can backtrack easily if you need to in the future.

Where is my content now? How do I find it?

At PutPlace, we use Amazon to store all of our data. If you already have an account with a storage service, we can manage your data from there instead, just let us know.

You can easily access it by clicking through to your online PutPlace repository at http://services.putplace.com/signin.
